overview

Day 1 : Arrival in Nairobi/ Flight to Rwanda

Shortly after arrival in Nairobi, take an hour-long flight to Rwanda where our guides will be waiting to lead you to a luxurious
hotel in Kigali for breakfast and a short briefing on your safari. Later, enjoy a drive through the Land of a Thousand Hills to Parc National des Volcanans and marvel at the spectacular sights. The journey north goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the iconic Virunga volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible.

Rwanda is called the “Land of a Thousand Hills” because much of the country is covered by rolling, grassy hills. There are also volcanic mountains in the northwestern part of the country. With an area of just 26,340 square kilometres, Rwanda is only slightly larger than Maryland or Vermont.
Day 2-3 : Parc National Des Vulcans

Begin the day with an early morning drive to the briefing station from where you will begin gorilla tracking in Parc National des Vulcans (Volcanoes National Park). Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is a magical experience that hundreds of tourists travel far and wide to see. Spend an hour with the friendly primates, and head back to base in time for a late lunch!

Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Later in the afternoon, visit the Iby' iwacu cultural village to experience the culture and life of the beautiful Rwandese people.

Day 4 : Golden Monkey Tracking

Enjoy Golden Monkey tracking this morning in Parc National des Vulcan’s with a different feel. A Sample some Rwandese music and
the famous Intore dance during a special planned performance. Take part in the magical dances while socializing and interacting with the ever polite and warm locals. Later in the afternoon, drive back to Kigali and visit the Holocaust Memorial Museum as you take a tour of the historic Kigali city.

Check in the evening into the Kigali Serena Hotel for a spectacular dinner and much deserved rest.

The magnificent Museum of Natural History and Evolution of Fashion in Rwanda is among the highlights of the city tour. Visit Handcraft Shops in the city and buy beautifully hand crafted artefacts and souvenirs that will ensure you keep amazing memories from your Rwanda trip. Later on in the day fly to Nairobi for your flight back home.
